Colonel Scott Delius

Scott Delius has received an AV® Preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell.
Scott is a civil mediator who has successfully mediated over one thousand civil cases over the past 25 years.
He also serves our country as a colonel in the Florida Army National Guard, and he is an Afghanistan veteran.
Educational Background
Scott earned a B.A. with Honors from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he was awarded the Chancellor’s Citation for Extraordinary Campus Leadership and Service at graduation.
He earned his law degree from the University of Memphis, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and a member of the national labor law moot court team.
Military Service
Scott answered the call to serve following the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and joined the Army National Guard. He closed his solo law practice and volunteered for duty in Afghanistan, where he served as an adviser to the Afghan National Army from 2006 to 2007.
Colonel Delius helped the Afghans establish a military justice system, which included training Afghan legal officers and establishing a military court. He also organized and led humanitarian service missions that delivered food and clothing to needy Afghan civilians.
Colonel Delius currently serves as the Army Staff Judge Advocate for the Florida National Guard at the Joint Force Headquarters.
Civic Service
Scott was honored to be appointed by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal to serve as a member of the Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) from 2011-2018.
The JNC recommends candidates to the Governor for appointment to fill open state, superior, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court Judgeships in Georgia.
Scott is a former Fulton County Magistrate Court judge.
Scott was elected by his fellow lawyers to serve on the Georgia State Bar Board of Governors, where he was a representative for the Atlanta Circuit for over seven years. The Board of Governors controls and administers the affairs of the State Bar of Georgia.
Scott helped launch the Fulton County Veterans Court and was honored to be appointed by the Georgia Speaker of the House to serve on the Georgia World War I Centennial Commission.
Scott is a member of the National Guard Association of Georgia and the National Guard Association of the United States.
